Last Friday, May 25th, the follow-up Committee of the Business Investment Attraction Office of the Intermunicipal Commonwealth of the Òdena Basin took place. The meeting, which is celebrated three times per year and is itinerant through the territory, was held this time at the City Council of Jorba.
At the follow-up Committee attended the Jorba Mayor, who this time hosted the event as it was held in his town, the Mayors of Castellolí and La Pobla de Claramunt, as well as the political and technical representatives of Òdena, Santa Margarida de Montbui, Igualada and Vilanova del Camí, all of them municipalities that make up the Commonwealth. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Investment Attraction Commission of the Anoia Business Union, the Polygons of the Plans Association, the Carles Group and the coordination team of the Intermunicipal Commonwealth of the Òdena Basin.
During the meeting, the new incorporations of the Office were presented, which contribute to improving the search for opportunities to attract investments in the territory. The report of the Business Investment Attraction Office was also presented, which establishes the total number of requests for industrial buildings and land received during the past exercise; the fairs and missions carried out and pending for this 2018, and the future lines of action of the Office. From Igualada Town Hall, emphasis was placed on the Reempresa service offered by the municipality, as a tool to avoid losing potential and giving continuity to business projects in the territory.
The lines of action of the Office focus on continue working with clusters and associations to promote investment in the region. At the same time, it intends to continue working to attract investment from consolidated sectors in the territory, such as textiles, motor and paper, and at the same time make a commitment to attract new ones, such as the logistics sector, which is going through a very good situation with a rise in investments in Catalonia.
The Business Investment Attraction Office highlights the competitiveness of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, the proximity to important Catalan logistics centers and the future state investments in the communication axes, as great opportunities for investment in the territory, such as the A2 freeway, which will boost the connections much more.
The next follow-up committee meeting will take place between September or October of 2018.
